Semi-Auto Personal Carry

Scroll Askins Break

British Tan with Dark Background

Askins Break

Scroll

If you don't much care for flowers on a holster but like the idea of having a full carved holster, this pattern might be for you. The scroll work is also very reminiscent of the engraving one might find on a fine firearm and so might offer the perfect companion holster for such a piece.

Maricopa Askins Break

Light Mahogany

Askins Break

Maricopa Flower

This holster went to a gentleman in Norway. His instructions were that the holster be made for a World War II era 1911 and that it needed to be carried with the hammer down. The holster could as easily have been set up for cocked and locked carry.

Open Improved Retro Field

Hamley with Ocean Flame Border

This Commander length version of our Open Top Improved Field is shown with the Hamley Geometric and a wide border we call the Ocean Flame. We are finding that, while the basketstamp is a desireable geometric, people sometimes get bored with it. It also has a tendency to be associated with police gear. The Hamley geometric is a handsome alternative. Surround it with the border shown here or from elsewhere on the entire site to suit your personal aesthetics.

Denver Pancake Break

Antique Brown with dark background

Pancake Break

Denver Floral with Repeating 9's Border

The pancake holster has been around for a long time. It's as good today as it was then. This one carries the pistol high and tight in a classic FBI tilt. It can be had with or without the break and in a crossdraw configuration if desired. For those of you who have problems drawing from a high riding holster, we can make it with a lower ride and the rake of your choice.

Front Pocket

Havana

Spade Leaf

Having a pocket holster for a very small pistol with short grips can be a daunting thing for individuals even with regular sized hands. This little holster is perfect for accessing small , narrow-framed firearms. The holster is contoured so that it stays upright without possibility of capsizing the pistol in the front pocket. It is shown here with the Precision Small Arms version of the Baby Browning.

Greg's Liberty Holster

Light Mahogany

Liberty

Maricopa Flower

This is a copy of an old Gordon Davis style holster which one of our customers gave us to replicate. The holster has apparently not been in production for some time and we are happy to bring it back. It is similar in design to our Tension Screw Askins. The difference lies mainly in the placement of the tension screw and in the stitch detail.

This one, done with the Maricopa Floral is as beautiful as it is functional. As with all our holsters, we can build it in a crossdraw. We offer it in all colors and with any tooling pattern you might choose. Matching accessories of your choice are also available.

Greg's Liberty Competitor

Light Mahogany

Liberty Competitor

Maricopa Flower

If you look closely at this holster and the one above it, you can see exactly where the Liberty portion of the holster's name comes from. The Competitor portion comes from the extreme low cut at the ejection port. This particular one was made for a 6" barreled long slide so the "pipe" is exaggerated for length. It has a tension screw which helps with the task of adjusting the draw.

It must be noted that while this is a good holster for the game or range scene, the standard Liberty might be the better choice for day to day carry.

Maricopa Askins COmpetitor

British Tan with dark background

Askins Competitor

Maricopa Flower

Once you get the hang of how we name things, it's easy to see why we named this one as we did. It has the basic body and lines of the Askins but a lowered front for faster presentation and holstering. It is cut to the top of the ejectoon port which makes it about and inch higher than the Liberty Competitor. And yes, we cheated a bit by using our 5" in the long slide holster in the photo above!

UX TENSION SCREW Askins

Golden

Askins Tension Screw

Straightcut 1-1/2"

Double Open Top, Square Bottom

4-Petal Flower and UX Brand

This is probably one of the nicest carved sets we have ever made. The Tension Screw Askins is set at about a 10 degree FBI tilt. The UX brand is intertwined with the floral work.

We would also like to take the moment to thank Craig Spegal yet again for the outstanding work on this pair of Burled Walnut grips. They grace many a picture on this site.

Borderstamped Open Improved Field Holster

Havana

Open Improved Retro Field

Double Shuffle Border

We have always liked the Field Holsters. They offer good protection over most of the firearm and yet still offer a good solid draw which makes that inner Jeff Cooper in many of us grin. As stated before, the slight grip roll to the outside makes for an easier draw and greater carrying comfort. Few can argue that the Double Shuffle Border does not add to the overall look.

Maricopa Askins

British Tan with dark background

Askins

Maricopa Flower

Since we placed the Maricopa Flower on our first holster, it has drawn possibly more attention from our customers than any other floral pattern we have done. It's bold flower and delicate intertwining scroll work add elegance to anything we have placed it on. It appears throughout the site and remains consistantly appealing with our customers.

Shark Sidewinder

Chocolate Shark with British Tan Placket

Sidewinder

Sidewinder

This is a new holster for these pages. Sort of. If you think of it as an Askins holster modified so that the slot is replaced with a belt loop, you have the concept nailed. It provides the same solid tunnel loop as the standard Askins for security with a slightly easier to deal with 2ndary attachment point.

The shark is new to these pages too. We will be doing much more with it in coming iteations of this site. For now, we will simply mention that most articles can be had in shark.

IWB Clip Holster

Golden

Clip IWB

None

This is the clipped verion of our standard IWB. This one was made for Mike Venturino, a dedicated afficionado of both the Colt 1908 and suspenders. It also works well on a belt for those of you who might prefer it to the belt loop style.

The holster is lighty reinforced below the topband for stiffness and ease of holstering. There is a seat guard standard. We like sweat guards as they are kind to the gun and keep your personal pelt from being pinched and poked.

Sweetwater Rose Askins

British Tan

Askins

Sweetwater Rose

When we were asked if we could do a sort of a Texas Ranger motif for an Askins, we responded with an adaptation of an old SD Myres pattern from one of his K-frame holsters. Sam Myres never lived long enough to see the development of the Askins. It would be hoped that he would have approved of the holster as well as our purloining of his pattern for its decoration.

The holster is shown for a 5' 1911 in a high riding FBI cant. The grips, for those of you who are curious are a nicely barked piece of cape buffalo.

Double Shuffle Askins

British Tan

Askins

Double Shuffle Border

This Askins is raked into a high crossdraw. Looking at it, one cannot deny the understated elegance of a holster which is borderstamped. Most all of our borders can be adapted so feel free to have a look over the entire website and choose something that will make you proud to carry everyday.

We would like to thank Ed Strange at Wicked Grips for the work on this pair of outstanding Box Elder grips.
